When I put it to a hair dryer, the measurement always changed. The product was extremely expensive for a single-axis meter, too. i was looking for a triple-axis meter, not a single-axis meter. First it was 21 mg, then it was 16 mg, and then it was 34 mg. The meter did not work very well. I put it to an electrical machine, and it just said.01 mg almost all the time. It was always changing. I needed this meter for a science project and it failed the requirements.
I purchased this item mainly to test the area where my bed was placed for EMF's. I've been testing everything in the house, and it's amazing the unlikely things that pour out the EMF's and the major things that don't. I had recently moved my bed away from a wall where the power came into my house and felt the new placement was safer. What I found was that the wall where the bed had been had small (1.4) amounts of EMF's, but that the small alarm clock, placed on the table next to my head, was cranking out 134+. Unlike another reviewer, my meter came with a small manual. If you're interested in the invisible world around you I'd recommend this meter.

The product arrived as expected, in good condition with no defects whatsoever after a few tests of the device. A great tool to have on hand, especially when you want to check out some potentially haunted places. I'm pleased to finally have my own EMF detector on hand should I feel the need to do some of my own paranormal detecting. And there are a few places I do know of personally I've often wanted to check out with this. Now I can. That and the Ghost Hunters book are both handy and informative tools to have on hand and I'm glad I finally have these items in addition to my own research materials. Thanks so much for your service, I can hardly wait to use it.
It works perfectly to me, but don't forget take different directions approach for each measurement. To say short - I like my EXTECH. I bought one to review my house wiring, electrical switches and the EMI radiation from my hobby PCB boards. When I get new PC I open its case and checked each board separately. Very useful device.
